Twelve children, coach Sidney Begala and Ukhanyo Primary educator Ntombie Magatyelwa rode the 75km Tour de PPA race in preparation for the Cape Town Cycle Tour (CTCT) happening on March 12. Ntombie finished her very first race and was so happy. “It was tough going, and Sidney helped me throughout. Many thanks!” Ntombie said after the race.
Four learners from Masiphumelele High competed and were accompanied and cheered on by their educator Siphokazi Tandamisa. It’s always a treat to have the staff involved.
The race was excellent practice and the cycle kids loved the ‘new’ bikes that BenBikes sold us at very low prices. They were so grateful as the race is considered a toughie. They were delighted to finish!
