Hazel Anderson, an Open Studios committee member, and Alex Hetherington, a MasiSports ambassador and exco member, are Noordhoek neighbours and friends. So began a collaboration for the children of Masi. Open Studios is a long-established collection of artists, sculptors and potters who organise an annual open weekend to share their work with visitors. The entrance fee that is collected is donated to a local charity — and in 2021 MasiSports was delighted to be selected to receive the funds.
Now MasiSports is delighted to announce that Open Studios has chosen MasiSports as their long-term partner. Vince van der Bijl and Alex Hetherington shared MasiSports’ vision and progress at an evening function where the Open Studio members handed over more than R20 000 to MasiSports. The evening was a meeting of minds and we both look forward to a special partnership.
This is another example of the open hearts of the residents of Noordhoek and their continued amazing support for Masiphumelele. This is a special community.
Aimee Kruger, an Open Studios committee member, wrote: “We are excited to build a relationship with MasiSports. As an art group in Noordhoek we want to support a charity or project that is local. We want to be able to be part of the process and assist children in our area. The way the project focuses on providing a holistic development of the children is important to us. We are looking forward to getting more involved and working together in the future.”
There is so much more Open Studios and MasiSports can do together. Watch this space!
