Seventeen MasiSports+ learners recently visited the Norval Foundation Art Museum for a day of creativity, learning, and inspiration.

The learners received a warm welcome before participating in a fun icebreaker activity that incorporated life skills. They quickly became fully engaged, asking thoughtful questions and demonstrating genuine curiosity as they explored the galleries and learned about the stories behind the artworks.

A special highlight of the visit was discovering a painting by their fellow student, Lindikhaya, a high school learner from Masiphumelele High School, currently on display at the gallery.

“Seeing our learners step into a new environment with so much confidence and curiosity was inspiring. They embraced every opportunity to learn, ask questions, and engage with the art.”

– Feziwe Payi, MEL Co-ordinator, MasiSports+

The visit also included the outdoor sculpture garden, which was highly enjoyed. The impressive sculptures sparked excitement and inspired learners to see art in a new and engaging way.

For many, this was their first visit to a world-class art space. More importantly, it opened their eyes to opportunities beyond Masiphumelele, showing them that careers in the arts and creative industries are within reach.

A big thank you to the Norval Foundation for an unforgettable experience and for helping our learners dream bigger and see what’s possible.
