The MasiSports Open Day at Ukhanyo Primary school on May 6th saw more than 100 guests celebrate the name change and the sod-turning ceremony for the new 60 x 30m astroturf Ingrid Wheeler Field. The day also showcased the variety of sports at the school, as well as the Masicorp labs where academic activity takes place. It was a spectacular occasion. As always, the Ukhanyo learners reveled in being on show and shone brightly.
The day also launched the MasiSports 1000 x R1000plus fundraising campaign.
The Lords Taverners, a cricket partner, were our guests and sent through this video they had produced, so impressed they were.
It shows the progress of the project and highlights comments from Springbok rugby player Scarra Ntubeni and Protea women’s cricketer Sinalo Jafta, and includes a great interview with head coach Nceba Jonas.
