The Masiphumelele High School community is proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement by two of its Grade 8 learners, Enzokuhle Myeki and Milani Mkhonto, who have been selected to represent the Western Cape U15 Soccer Team at the upcoming Winter Games in East London this July.
This prestigious selection is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment both players have shown throughout their football journey. Their achievement reflects not only their individual talent but also the growing strength of soccer within the Masiphumelele community.
“When I am on the soccer pitch, I feel free. My dream is to be a professional player one day,” said Enzokuhle, a creative midfielder.
The Winter Games will bring together some of South Africa’s most promising young athletes, providing a platform for high-level competition, personal growth, and the opportunity to showcase their skills against the best players from across the country. Being chosen to wear the Western Cape colors is a significant honor and one that Enzokuhle and Milani have earned through their determination, discipline, and outstanding performances on the field.
Their success serves as an inspiration to fellow learners and aspiring young footballers. It demonstrates that with hard work, commitment, and belief in oneself, opportunities can be created to achieve great things.
Milani, a goalkeeper, said; “I hope to reach my potential and be a positive role model for young people like me in the future. I want to give back to my community one day.”
