Masi’s women cyclists rise to the top

Cycling under the watchful eye of MasiSports coach Lubabalo Begala (Sidney) continues to thrive at Ukhanyo Primary and Masi High. On Youth Day (June 16) WP Cycling had a festival to celebrate Nelson Mandela. The MasiSports team had their best day, taking seven cyclists to compete.

In the under-15 race, our cyclists came in first and second!

1st – Liyabona Nadlkane (Masi High)
2nd – Okuhle Nabani (Ukhanyo Primary)

We also had the champion in the under-19 race Lisakhanya Dyanti (Masi High)

Liyabona Naslkane and Lisakhanya Dyanti were then chosen to represent WP in the National Youth Festival held in Oudtshoorn in the first week of July. Sidney and the schools are so proud and MasiSports feels privileged to support them.

MasiSports focuses on participation with life skills, teamwork, discipline, and learning about self. However talented learners emerge at the top in every sport. There is so much talent in all the townships around the country in academics, cultural activities, and sports.

Working with the schools is of major importance as the learners feel valued by the educators, the coaches, and their peers. Confidence builds and they see a fulfilled future before them. Being involved energises all of us every day as we see the township children and teenagers realise their value, their talents and what is possible.
