This year, a proud team of 13 cyclists took part in the iconic 109 km Cape Town Cycle Tour. While many of our riders are now experienced cyclists, this year also saw a few brave first-timers take on the challenge of one of the world’s most famous cycling events.
Months of dedication, training sessions, and determination all came together on race day. The excitement within the team was not only about finishing the race, but also about who would record the fastest time. Once again, Liyabona led the pack, completing the demanding route in an outstanding 4 hours.
Beyond the times and results, what stood out most was the spirit of the team. Our cyclists showed resilience, teamwork and pure joy as they conquered the course together, creating memories and making history for themselves along the way.
A special word of appreciation goes to Coach Sidney, whose commitment, guidance and countless hours of training have helped these young cyclists reach such an incredible milestone. His dedication continues to inspire our learners. He is assisted by Coach Mihle, a fresh and energetic addition to the cycling coaching team. A massive thanks to Miss Lunga – Ukhanyo PS educator, for her continued role as a educator coach, always at hand to assist and support.
Lastly, thank you to Jacana Development, Green Bottle Trust UK and everyone that supports our cycling program development. Your support is greatly appreciated and helps cycling provide a window to hope and opportunity in Masiphumelele.
Well done everyone
