MasiSports and Ukhanyo Primary are so proud of Fez Payi and Pam Ngcwana receiving their Early Childhood Development (ECD) diploma. Part-time study and a job are not easy bedfellows, as online study takes great commitment. We are all over the moon.
Fez Payi has written about her journey to encourage others to consider studying further.
“I am so excited receiving my ECD diploma, with my colleague, Pam Ngcwana. I started the journey to the ECD after a deep conversation with Madala (Vince) a few years back, I decided to let go of my fears and take the chance to continue with my studies. I had previously dropped out of an HR course. However, part-time studies and online made sense as I have a child to take care of.
I have now learnt that it is never too late to branch out into new opportunities and new learnings. I was in a way getting used to a life that I had lived for years as a netball coach in Ukhanyo Primary School. That seemed to be the way it was always going to be.
It shifted when I was quite rigorously challenged by MasiSports founder Mdala (Vince). He asked me why I did not have a job as a middle manager in a big firm! Imagine that! That made me relook at my life and its possibilities.
I had done an 18-month eta College sports management course through MasiSports so I realised that I could study further. Working in the Computer Lab, I enjoyed teaching young children, so decided to register for an online ECD course. So wonderful that Pam joined me so we could and did support each other. Thanks, MasiSports, for all your support that enabled us.
A change of direction I realised starts with the first step.”
Fez and Pam, you are inspirational. Many congratulations.
