Premier Alan Winde visited Ukhanyo earlier this year
It is the shining faces of the Ukhanyo kids at PT and after-school activities that show the impact of life skills and sports. The infographics below show the gender balance so crucial in our drive for gender equality. The under-13-A girl’s soccer side remains unbeaten in its first season! So many human and uplifting stories beneath the statistics and results.
In winter, we have an average of 12 matches a week in the different sporting codes. Ukhanyo has 18 school teams participating with an 80% win percentage. Winning is one thing – but behaviour, discipline, teamwork, confidence, pride and respect are a key focus. The Western Cape Premier Alan Winde saw the discipline, behaviour and spontaneous fun of 250 Grade 4 learners sitting on the floor during a 45-minute presentation to see the results of a truly holistic education at Ukhanyo Primary.
Holistic education is the only answer to creating a generation of exciting, confident and get-ahead adults.
Masicorp and its Maths and English hubs and library, Coolplay and its life-skills training of our coaches, and the multiple NPOs and Rotary clubs that support MasiSports and Ukhanyo are all part of this amazing solution. We rejoice with each of them. Thank you, partners, you make it happen.
